Quick Summary

Results of using Meguiar's Ultimate Black - the popular trim dressing gel.

Specs
  • Container: Shampoo-Style Bottle
  • Application: Wipe-On Gel
  • Volume: 12 oz.
Pros
  • ⦿ easy to apply
  • ⦿ not too runny
Cons
  • ⦿ 2 week durability | apply about once every wash

I set out to see what results I could get as compared to my usual thick silicone trim dressing called Black Jack. I was pleased with the Black Jack product – found in car wash vending machines, but it was a very messy product that runs and never completely dried.

I heard about Meguiar’s Ultimate Black and decided to give it a try.

After quickly cleaning off the area, I applied the product. It has a medium viscosity. I had to work it in and maybe even go over certain areas with a second pass.

It is important to leave your car out of the elements for 24 hours or so to give adequate drying time. Pictured above are results for plastic and window trim areas. Click HERE to see the sales page.

Overall, I was pleased with the results on my project car. TIP: If you need a very shiny appearance, you could go back and apply a second coat. Results last for about 2 weeks.
