SEMA 2022

This year’s SEMA show featured some highly anticipated (by me) builds. Although it has been a few years since I personally attended the show, there are lots of recaps available online. I recommend watching them on YouTube at 1.5x speed, because who has the time?

Unfortunately, my anticipated cars were on the razor’s edge of completing on time. Here are the latest statements on the StanceWorks 308 and the Rennch Porsche from YouTube:

Interestingly, another builder I follow on TikTok presented their EV swapped Mustang. Inspire EV’s TikTok is below.

From what I’ve seen of the “electrified” portion of the show, the biggest surprise – to me – was a new EV truck startup called Lordstown. This new concept truck features a practicality-focused platform and hub motors! This was a huge surprise for me. The truck badged “Endurance” will occupy GM’s former Lordstown plant. I look forward to hearing more about this Lightning competitor.

There were loads of awesome eye candy ICE cars and trucks. Truly beautiful custom builds. You would expect no less from the SEMA show. At this point, my attention is focused on where the great artistic builders incorporate alternative fuel. With electric motors, it seems that all of the great drawings on paper could come to life! Well, maybe once battery tech gets a little better.
